Florida: Myakka River State Park

Myakka River State Park is located about 25 miles East of Sarasota. It is a great place to see wildlife and typical Florida "flatscape" (its beautiful, but I struggle to call it landscape). More than once I've seen bald eagles there but never got a good shot. I took an airboat tour of the lake which was entertaining. There you can also see: Sandhill cranes, aligators, armadillos, herons, osprey and so on. There is also an a canopy walk, hiking trails, nature trails, boating, etc.
