Florida: Harry P. Leu Gardens

My first stop in Florida was the Harry P. Leu Gardens in Orlando. I had no desire to visit Orlando otherwise (and its concrete and steel wonderlands) but this was on the way. Lots of macro photography and a nice lake. (I'm still getting used to my macro lens.)

Training Wheels Off

(Sorry for the long blogging break. I was working and then spending most of my time renovating the house and didn't have much worth blogging about.)

Well it finally happened. I scrimped, saved and eBayed and bought my first digital SLR, a Canon Digital Rebel XT. Its a dream to have the camera take the picture as soon as you click. I have been doing digital so long I forgot what that was like. In the past I'd missed a lot of shots because of the delay. But its definitely not "point and shoot", you have to put more thought into your shot.

Here are some shots I took to get used to the camera before my next trip (Florida).
